RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC Chamber today named House Majority Leader John Bell a 2019 – 2020 “Jobs Champion” in its annual How They Voted report, which details state legislators’ voting records on bills identified as critical to enhancing the state’s position in the national race for jobs.
Rep. Bell was recognized as a “Jobs Champion” for the second year in a row for his strong support of pro-growth policies during the 2019 – 2020 legislative biennium.
“I am very proud to have once again been recognized as a ‘Jobs Champion’ for my efforts to support jobs and economic growth in the state legislature,” said Rep. Bell. “This was a challenging year, but thanks to the pro-growth reforms put in place by the Republican-led General Assembly over the past decade, our state was in a strong position to respond to the crisis and support our state’s economy.”
“Following a strong, pro-jobs long session in 2019, legislators in 2020 showed an unprecedented level of bipartisanship in supporting our state’s response to COVID-19,” said NC Chamber President and CEO Gary Salamido. “We are grateful for Rep. Bell’s leadership in helping North Carolina navigate the unique challenges of the pandemic and put us squarely on a path to relaunching our state’s economy. We look forward to continuing to work with him to help chart a new course for our state.”
